it was nice for a moment
January 28, 2009
Waking up to the ice and snow was exciting. Even our dog was intrigued with the outdoor conditions.

Now that the frozen stuff is beginning to melt – I’m not so impressed with the landscape (even on a perfect day – there isn’t much inspiring about a gravel parking lot – but you get the idea).

I’d much rather relax in a place like this:

My kids would have a tough time with this one. They snow-board, snow ski, and surf. (The older ones that is …. ). I, on the other hand, prefer the SUN and SAND! Notice I did not say SUN and SURF! I am deathly afraid of sharks and besides … it takes no energy at all to lie on the beach and get lost in the warmth of the sun and the sound of the sea. Sometimes I am quite sure that I hear God in those moments just before I doze off and drool on my beach towel.
I like a little snow Chad, but I think I’ll have to lean toward the sun.
That last location looks familiar and so much nicer than the Russian winter I am currently experiencing. Let’s go! Tell Rhonda I’ll meet her on the boat!
