Women’s Event

September 9, 2008

Last night about twenty-five women from Cross Point Dickson gathered for a women’s event.  While I wasn’t in attendance (for obvious reasons) I understand that a great time was had by all.  There was food, conversation, and the painting of pottery.  Over the next two weeks, we’ll be promoting several new community groups for our women (other groups will be starting as well).  Community groups provide an opportunity to “do life” together by developing relationships and growing together.  In a small group you can study God’s Word, share interests, and just be yourself.  If you’re not in a group – I encourage you to investigate the new options and to get involved.

We had such a great time. I got to meet several women I hadn’t spoken to before and there was food! We all (or almost all) got to show off our artistic (ish) side. If you look closely, you can see my really cool mug in the first shot. I even stretched and used dots. I can’t wait till we do it again!

I had such an awesome time! I was so happy to meet some new gals and grow closer bonds with some that I had only met in passing. I can’t wait to join a small group and get more involved.

    I agree with Laurie….food = fun!

Ditto to Laurie and Ladybird’s comments. The evening was a huge success. I finally got to put names with some of the faces I have seen at Cross Point for the last several months. Truly great, interesting women filled the place. Skipped the food, (Well … most of it …) because I am on a much over-due diet. Went back to the Fire Station on Tuesday afternoon to finish painting my project. As usual, I under estimated how long it would take to paint what I chose. (OR … more like it … I under estimated how much talking I would do instead of painting!!!) It was fun! Thanks to Laurie for pulling this together and to you, Chad, for posting about it.
