Operation Christmas Child

November 5, 2008

This weekend (at Cross Point), we shared with you a number of missions opportunities for your consideration.  You quickly stormed the Connecting Points table to “adopt” children from the Wheelwright, KY community.  You blew us away earlier this year when your generosity was made evident as you supplied back-to-school items for this same region.  Another project/ministry effort that is particularly worthwhile (in my humble opinion) is Operation Christmas Child.  Many of you picked up informational brochures for this ministry as well.  If you haven’t done so already – let me encourage you to learn more about this global effort @ http://www.samaritanspurse.org.  In 2007, I had the privilege of traveling with Samaritan’s Purse to share in the distribution of shoebox gifts.  Children (and families) all over the world are discovering the hope made available through Christ as a result of these simple gifts.  Here are a few pictures from that trip.
